Soundproof Walls Make Good Neighbors

They say that Good Fences Make Good Neighbors, but it’s our soundproofing that really does the trick. Here at Hidden Creek of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, our high sound-resistant separation wall has an amazing sound transmission coefficient (STC) of 68 (the higher the number, the greater the drop in decibel
levels bleeding through the surface). A sound rating above 60 renders most sounds inaudible, including loud talking, musical instruments, home theaters and stereo systems. Comparatively, a typical single-family home has an STC rating of 45 to 50.

SOUND ISOLATION TECHNIQUE:

To achieve an STC of 68, our sound wall is comprised of 8” masonry block with two 3/4” X 11/2” PT pine furring with 1/2” sound board and 1/2” drywall with R-4.1 Fi-Foil insulation on both sides of the block. No perforations, plumbing or other breaches are allowed to penetrate the integrity of the sound wall masonry. Our attention to detail is something you will appreciate every day in your townhome.
